Indian Pacific Train

INDIAN PACIFIC

It was not until 1969 that a continuous standard gauge track from Sydney to Perth existed, connecting Pacific and Indian Oceans. The first unbroken journey formed the Indian Pacific, which commenced from Sydney Central Station on Monday 23 February, 1970. To this day the train in its same form leaves Sydney every Wednesday and Perth every Sunday.
