DAY 7 13/1/15

Today we were pumped for our day out to the Swan Valley. We picked up a hire car and drove less then an hour before we hit wineries. Our first stop was the Black Swan Winery, where I picked up a great Merlot.

Here you can see how Daniel went walkabout to take photos while I sampled the wine. Thats because he had to drive and couldn't sample any of the great wine.

Our next pit stop on our wine trail was the Riverbank Estate for some lunch.

Arancini Balls

Grilled Cacciatore Sausage

Slow cooked pork belly with crispy crackle

Black Angus Sirloin

Potatoes roasted in duck fat
That meal there was hands down one of the best on the the whole trip. Everything was perfect, and the only problem was that there was no room for dessert

Our next stop was Sandalford Wines, one of the biggest wineries in the valley. They had good wines and free postage for mail order!

I liked the concept for their dining area.

They also have many awards. We did end up visiting non-wine attractions including, honey, nuts, coffee and chocolate stores. We then returned back to Perth and enjoyed our evening in Crown Perth.
