DAY 4 10/1/15

After a late night we slept well and woke up to the outskirts of Perth. We enjoyed our warm coffee that our steward brought to us before we headed to the dining car for a quick breakfast. For breakfast we both had the same full breakfast as we saw the Swan Valley.

We arrived into East Perth station in the morning at 9:10am, into what seemed like a typical 1970's railway station. This station happens to be quite far out of the city but the station is served by many buses, local trains and taxi's.

We collected our bags from the platform, which were unusually unattended. We then made our way to our tour bus for a Perth sights tour that was booked from the onboard bar car. The bus left promptly once we arrived.

We learn much about the city of perth on this morning tour. We drove past the Gloucester Park race track, we also saw many local secrets about Perth.

Our first stop was Kings Park, which has the breathtaking view of Perth and the Swan River. We took some great snapshots on the perfect blue sky day.

Our next stop was Cottesloe Beach which was beautiful and with hardly any waves, so perfect for the kids. Surfing beaches are further north, like Scarborough Beach. After stopping here we enjoyed  seeing some of the expensive homes in Perth, including Gina Rineharts Mansion. We finished our tour with a stop on the south of Perth at the Swan River, which gives a different perspective of the city.

After a few hours we finished our tour and were dropped off at our hotel. I definitely recommend this tour, it helped us gain our bearings and gain some great tips. You won't be disappointed! We arrived at what looked like a chic modern hotel. Noticeably the room was not ready when we arrived at about 12pm, but they happily stored our bags. I just had to mention the beautiful smell of flowers in the hotel.

This hotel is on the edge of the CBD, so I recommend those staying here to utilise the many buses that stop outside the hotel. So we took the public bus from the hotel to the city to go shopping and to get some lunch. We also were sure to purchase a Transperth smart card and load it with cash, it works just like our Opal Card in Sydney. We then saw the famous London Court, which reminded us of Harry Potter. We then had an early night in the hotel.
